Baby TV

I thought I would never say this but thank goodness for Baby TV. We are all together in this tiny apartment and the only way for the little tyrant to calm down sometimes is Baby TV. Things will have to go back to normal when we get back home. It feels like we will have to start all over with the sleep training... Oh well.

Update!

Internet has been out. Seems like that always happens to us here.
We went to the zoo, Matty liked the sea lions and fish the most. While at the zoo, Matt was so cute that he got us free chocolate crepes! This is like winning the lottery the same day you get hit by a comet, in other words - there's nothing free in Hungary, ever. They charge for ketchup and public resrooms here, so this was huge. A very sweet lady at the snack bar who just liked Matt and played with him a lttile bit. Free crepes. Nice.

We also went to a park to see Alma Zenekar perform. It was great, a lot families were there and the park itself is a newly remodeled area of an old soviet-era factory so it has a very 'new europe' look and feel to it. We bought the band's latest CD and the whole band signed it, very nice guys.
The next pic is when we went to my 'hungo brother' second child's christening at a nearby Russian Orthodox church along the river.

We travelled to Visegrád, a small town off the river Danube, used as a fortress dating back to 1009 with really pretty views of the winding river and rolling hills (pic to the right).

Now we have internet I will update more often.

We made it!

Thanks in part to Lufthansa's excellent flight crew Matt did fairly well on both the long haul (12 hours) and short flight, sleeping the last 5 hours in to Frankfurt. A pretty German stewardess took Matty for about 10 minutes, showing him to other crew and passengers around the plane. It was a very nice break.
Matt LOVES his grandpa! They're always laughing and playing when together.
As you can see our clothes are drying to crunchiness in the background. Here is Matyi in his communist-era crib in our tiny apartment.
Oh and babies get jetlag too? Oh boy do they! Once we get in the swing of things I'll post pics of our trip to the zoo. Tomorrow we are going to see Matt's favorite Hungarian rock band perform in the park. www.almazenekar.hu. They ROCK!
We will check in soon!

Rethought

After some heartfelt discussions, we decided trying for/having baby #2 would not be the best thing for us right now. We will be waiting until 2012 and revisiting the topic every six months or so.

We are still heading to Hungary to have the most amazing family vacation ever! I will be blogging about that once we get there.

The countdown begins!

Wow guys! Thank you so much for the comments! I am so glad you remember me.

Here is a pic of Matt doing his thing (banging things).

It is strange to think that about a month from now I will be on a plane to do my Frozen Egg Transfer. Except this time Matt will be along with us.

We are very excited for him to meet his Grandpa for the first time. he also misses his great grandma very much!

Here is our sweet and lovable big boy.
We are headed back in September for a little brother or sister, so stay tuned as I will be blogging about the experience.
